Game companies Motion Twin and Evil Empire have announced that the upcoming downloadable content for video game Dead Cells called Fatal Falls is coming later this month. Sadist's Stiletto + Open Wounds is always powerful, some others off the top of my head: Oiled Sword + Fire Grenade, Nutcracker + Grappling Hook/Phaser (one of my recent favorites), and Rapier + any shield.Dead Cells DLC Fatal Falls Officially Launching Later This Month Lots of weapons are viable though, just keep an eye out for synergies between them. Don't be afraid to use custom mode btw, disabling items is technically already possible by just not unlocking items you want to avoid so I strongly believe it's just a QoL feature for this reason- ignore those who say its cheating! Regarding weapons, I don't want to tell you there's a "best" build, as I think it's better to go with the flow to some extent to enjoy the game, but I often like to disable the Swift Sword and Spite Sword (this is definitely my least favorite item in the game) in custom mode. ![]() Each are good in their own way, so it's down to preference/availability from there. There's three brutality shields you can get your hands on: Bloodthirsty Shield, Assault Shield, and Front Line Shield. If you have a melee build, Ramparts is generally a better bet. Ranged makes Ossuary a lot easier for sure, especially since it's got such big open areas. Ossuary is probably better for a ranged build simply because thornies are a pain with melee. I let more mistakes slip through on this one than usual unfortunately :/ ![]() Hope this helps! If you have further questions lemme knowĮDIT: Also check out the wiki for the map, that version's always the most up-to-date. If you don't learn now though, the higher difficulties will most likely tear you to shreds! I still get my butt kicked regularly without a shield, and I've cleared the game on the highest difficulty multiple times lol Learning how to parry with shields is also extremely useful, but not necessary. So missing just one scroll is a major gimp to your DPS! This is because your damage increases multiplicatively. Only increase other stats with dual-scrolls (which are weighted against your primary stat- meaning they are in fact intended for raising your health). Leave that route for when you've got some more experience!Īnother handy tip would be to put all your scrolls into one primary stat. I'd also refrain from the new Fatal Falls biomes since that's got a cursed chest and some rather tricky foes + platforming challenges. The main downside there is the cursed chest in Morass of the Banished, and you'll be missing out on a food shop. Going Bad Seed is solid to begin with if you want to do the Mushroom Boi sacrifice. The Explorer's Rune is a brilliant QoL addition, that one is found in Forgotten Sepulcher. I would also make it a big priority to get every rune- it drastically changes how you play the game- the spider rune (found in Slumbering Sanctuary, you have to get there by beating Conjonctivus) in particular. In general this means going the "default route" that requires only the vine rune to access (which you are essentially guaranteed to get on your first run). Going routes that avoid cursed chests and have food shops is quite useful.
